Valve please explain to Australians, after such a long experience stuck with not only the fairly poorly made Steam client software (no it doesn't crash, but that is not the sole factor poor software is judged upon!) and the unbelievably expensive Steam Link & Controller (which I'm sure is expensive for everybody not just AU/NZ) how you can hold back sales to our very prominent gaming nations? The orders of our small markets would be quite easy to fill and the job would be done. The excuse is an empty one and is past it's believe-ability, pretty much since the release of the jet engine. I am well aware that smaller markets have been left behind when it comes to new technology for many decades for the stated reasons of logistical distance and less demand, but it is the very size of these "less demanding" markets that make them far easier to supply in the first place. Technology itself is (and has been for some time) at a point where there is simply no excuse for the delay in our region receiving the benefits of new devices and tech. Personally I am extremely tired of Australia & NZ getting left behind in the technology market. This obviously affects our close neighbours New Zealand as well, and we know very well their contribution to current gaming isn't small, nor Australia's. ![]() I am more than disappointed to hear that not only has it been 6 months since the initial release of the Steam Deck, but that Australian sales won't even begin until 2023! Furthermore, Valve seem to think this is not only acceptable but is focusing time, energy and resources on creating it's successor rather than supplying a dedicated and wanting arm of the western market with units.
